Charolette's Web

I think that Charolette liked Wilber because he was an outsider like her. He had a playfull heart and was not liked very much. Charolette was a spider and naturally disliked. I think they bonded so well because of those factors. They both teamed up and became a great pair and they were able to accomplish a lot with their friendship. They later both became very liked.

A Day No Pigs Would Die (blog #1)

     If i were to have a pet, then my pet of choice would be a goldfish. I would choose a goldfish because they are easy to take care of and they don't require a lot of space. I would only have to feed it and leave it in the bowl. The best part of having something like a goldfish is that you can replace it at any time without knowing a difference. I doubt it would serve as a friend at any time because it is a fish with no emotions.

Point of View Story Switching

  It is 8:15 and Sarah is standing at her opened locker gazing into the mirror she has glued to the inside of her locker door. As she makes sure that no remnants of her morning breakfast remain on her perfect smile, she sees that Tom is talking to Leslie in the middle of the congested hallwat. Turning around to get a closer look, Sara begins seething.
    She was in disbelief that he would look at her twice.It was obvious that he didn't know when Leslie came to school.She took Leslie under her wing and made her into a completely different person.Her clothes were screaming thrifty before she came along.She didn't even want to get started on those grubby shoes of hers!They weren't even in style anymore.Acrimoniously,she looked on at the girl who had gall to flirt with the guy SHE wanted to go to homecoming with."This bites!",she thought to herself.With astounding confidence,she swore that Tom would ask her to homecoming.

Edinburgh, Scottland's Notorious Paranormal Activity

     Edinburgh, Scottland is well known in the world of tourism for its paranormal activity above and bellow the ground. In the 18th century, in Edinburgh, the Scottish decided to store their food in multiple underground cellars, because the town was becoming over populated. They quickely found out that when it rained the water would leak underground into the tunnels and it would ruin the food. This started what is know as "The Black Plague." So when people started to die, because of the plague, the dead would be thrown into the unused cellars. This caused the disturbed spirits to still roam underground today.
      My step-father visited this location and got a tour of the underground vaults. He brought back with him a story... He was walking along the barren tunnels with his tour guide listening to his words on the freeky history of the place. About twenty miniutes into the tour there was a clearing and items that were hard to make out. The guide stated that that area was reserved for those who practice whichcraft. He also stated that if you were to enter than you would have a terrible spell cast upon you that would cause terror to you for the rest of your life. The room fell silent and then a random rock falls off a small ledge on the wall. A few miniutes later the group comes to a stop outside a cell, where the guide then explains that the location was a very popular spot to place the dead. As my step-father stands listening, a random chill comes down his spine and his entire body is touched by a cold, spine raising form of energy. At the end of the tour there was nobody else that had felt this same enchantment, but there was someone that, at the same point of the tour, unknowingly caught a randome form of light cross the screen of his video camera. Everyone agreed on the fact that it was pitch black at that point in the tour.

Of Mice and Men

     The book "Of Mice and Men" is a well written novel from the early 1900's, it is about two hardworking men that get into trouble and are trying to recover while working on a ranch. The two men, George and Lennie, have been traveling around with each other for a good amount of time and doing labor for money. It has become clear to George that Lennie has some mental disabilities, but that doesn't stop them from getting work and sticking with each other. George and Lennie aren't like all of the average workers though, because they have their own dreams of moving on to having their own land and farm, unlike most of the laborers. I feel that this original novel, written by John Steinbeck, is a great expression of what life was like in that period of time. This would be a good book for those interested in 20th century history.
